WORK -IN- PROGRESS

As the new year is here, the O_live project team would like to share with you a brief update and some highlights of our progress during 2022.

We started in October 2022 and after 3 months, 22 zoom meetings and many-many hours dedicated to research and design, this is where we are today…

  • We have gathered useful additional material such as links, articles and other educational methods. This information will be posted here on the O_live website and will be available to any visitor who wishes to delve deeper into the subject.
  • The team of 6 trainers from France, Greece and Germany completed the research part to collect and exchange inputs/practices/info to support the design of the activities.
  • The trainers have designed 4 of the 6 O_live workshops and are moving on to the last 2 remaining workshops.

What follows?

In 2023 and actually the upcoming months we are going

  • To test the 6 O_live workshops as they emerge from the design phase in 3 primary schools in Germany, Greece and France.
  • To have the 4-days teachers training in Messolonghi, Greece. There, teachers from the 3 previous countries will be trained in the new method.

And much more… But, step by step!

So stay tuned!

From all of us, have a HAPPY & CREATIVE NEW YEAR!

Teachers training in Messolonghi, Greece

We are preparing our teacher’s training which will launch on 19/2 at Messolonghi, Greece. Our Greek artistic partner Messolonghi By Locals will host us at their Hub. There, teachers from Greece, France and Germany will get trained all together based on the O_LIVE method’s activities. In particular, teachers from the project partner’s school will be practically guided on how to implement the new method by its designers themselves.

The aim of the four-day training session is to empower the participants, boost their confidence and enhance their ability to implement the proposed activities by sharing tips and answering possible questions.

Participants will have the opportunity to explore all of the method’s chapters:

  1. acting responsibly (self esteem, participation, self-control, communication)
  2. acting democratically (fairness, inclusion, conflict resolution, active listening
  3. acting equally (respect, empathy, cooperation, equal opportunities)

As all the designed activities are based on the two essential and natural methods of learning: learning through play and  learning through experience, they will use during the training session their bodies, minds and senses. What can they expect?

Role-playing activities, sports games, improvisation, body expression, imaginative scenarios, case studies which are part of our toolkit.

What follows?

The plan for this group of teachers is that after the training they will return to their countries and test the method in their own classrooms (pilot workshops). Their feedback and their student’s feedback will help us to evaluate and validate the O_live method.

So, stay tuned!

Testing of the O_live method in France, Greece and Germany

In this phase of the project, the group of teachers who completed their training in Messolonghi based on the new O_live method are going to implement the workshops in their own classrooms (pilot workshops).

So, in this second round of pilot workshops we will have a total of 6 applications, 2 per country

Students in their classrooms will have the opportunity to be trained to play and act in three different ways:

  1. acting responsibly (self esteem, participation, self-control, communication)
  2. acting democratically (fairness, inclusion, conflict resolution, active listening
  3. acting equally (respect, empathy, cooperation, equal opportunities)

How?

  • By true Olympic stories
  • Role-playing games
  • sports games
  • creative case studies
  • team- working tasks
  • improvisation

To succeed in all the different tasks they will have to use a combination of their body, mind and senses.

What follows?

Collecting the feedback from teachers and  their students to evaluate and validate the O_live method.

So stay tuned!
